Engle's Roadside Restaurant, located at 2403 Temple Hill Rd in Erwin, TN, is a beloved gem for American cuisine. Customers rave about the diner’s inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, which makes it a perfect stop for both locals and travelers alike. The highlight dishes include expertly prepared flounder, praised by diners for its crispy exterior and tender interior. One reviewer described it as "excellent" and a must-try.
The burger offerings also receive high marks, with patrons frequently remarking on their juicy, old-school taste, reminiscent of classic roadside diners. However, experiences vary, particularly during evening visits, with some customers noting that the food quality can decline. Despite this, the reasonable prices and diverse menu—including favorites like catfish, chicken strips, and house-made frozen yogurt—keep guests coming back. Engle's focuses on quality, comfort, and retro charm, making it a delightful choice for any meal, whether it's a lunch break or a cozy dinner.
Overall, Engle's Roadside Restaurant succeeds in providing a warm and satisfying dining experience that encourages patrons to return. It’s definitely a spot to consider for anyone looking for quality American fare in a nostalgic setting.

Had the flounder for dinner and was excellent. Nice size and cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender inside. To go order and staff was very nice. This place is the best diner in the area and you won't be disappointed.

Engle's Roadside Rest is an amazing little place. Their hamburgers are the best and their catfish dinner is amazing. "Come see for yourself".

Great burger and fries!!! At lunch food seems great, but in the evenings I can't say the same., Shrimp and fries were warm not hot, had to ask for a fork for salads. This was the second time we visited in the evening and same average results.

We ordered the chicken strips dinner, the flounder dinner, and the frozen yogurt. Everything was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday for lunch and dinner.

It's a traditional roadside diner! Walk up counter to place your order then seat yourself at a table. We both had cheeseburgers so I can't comment on their other offerings of chicken, country steak, fish, shrimp, or BBQ. Our burgers were straight up old school good and juicy burgers. Seasoned fries or salt your own.

We were there shortly after opening, so it was relatively quiet. We had our business discussion, then ordered lunch. He got a club salad and I had a BBQ sandwich. The food was good and reasonably priced. All things considered, it was a very good experience.
